Transport Coordinator

Key Responsibilities Transportation Operations Coordinate daily transportation activities and vehicle allocation. Plan and schedule vehicle movements as per operational requirements. Monitor vehicle utilization and optimize transportation costs. Ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments. Driver & Fleet Management Coordinate with drivers regarding trip schedules and delivery timelines. Monitor driver attendance, availability, and performance. Maintain records of vehicle documents, permits, insurance, and fitness certificates. Track vehicle maintenance schedules and breakdown resolutions. Shipment Tracking & Reporting Track shipments and provide real-time updates to internal teams and customers. Prepare daily transportation reports and MIS reports. Maintain trip sheets, PODs (Proof of Delivery), and transportation records. Resolve transportation-related issues and delays proactively. Vendor Management Coordinate with transport vendors and fleet partners. Negotiate transportation rates when required. Verify vendor invoices and support payment processing. Ensure service quality standards are maintained by transport partners. Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies. Maintain all transportation-related documents and records. Coordinate vehicle permits, insurance renewals, and statutory requirements. Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures. Required Skills Transportation & Logistics Coordination Fleet Management Route Planning Vendor Management Shipment Tracking MIS Reporting Communication & Coordination Skills Problem-Solving Ability Documentation Management MS Excel & MS Office Preferred Qualifications Graduate in any discipline (Logistics/Supply Chain preferred). 1–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations. Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) is an advantage. Good understanding of transportation documentation and compliance requirements.
