Hardware Engineer

Key Responsibilities Equipment Installation: Run, lay, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables. Install Optical Network Terminals (ONT) and configure Wi-Fi routers/modems. Testing & Troubleshooting: Use specialized tools like OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and Optical Power Meters to test signal strength and connectivity. Fault Resolution: Diagnose network issues, fix signal drops, replace faulty hardware, and resolve customer complaints regarding poor internet performance. Customer Support: Educate clients on how to use their equipment, understand Wi-Fi passwords, and maximize their internet speeds. Core Skills & Qualifications Education: ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical, or Computer Networking (often a 10th or 12th pass minimum for entry-level roles). Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Passive Optical Networks (PON), and basic IP configurations (LAN/WAN). Physical Requirements: Ability to safely conduct aerial and underground cabling, work at heights, and handle physical fieldwork. Transportation: A two-wheeler with a valid driving license is generally mandatory to travel to different customer sites.
