Fashion Merchandiser

Job Title: Merchandiser (Garment Production) Job Summary The Merchandiser will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of apparel orders. This role requires a blend of technical garment knowledge, project management, and communication skills to ensure that products are developed, produced, and shipped on time, meeting both quality standards and cost targets. Key Responsibilities Account & Buyer Management: Act as the primary point of contact for international or domestic buyers. Understand buyer requirements, tech packs, and quality manuals to ensure accurate execution. Costing & Negotiation: Prepare detailed cost sheets (BOM - Bill of Materials) including fabric, trims, CM (Cut & Make), and finishing costs. Negotiate pricing with vendors and suppliers to maintain profit margins. Sampling & Development: Coordinate with the sampling department to develop Proto, Fit, and Salesman samples (SMS). Ensure all comments from buyers are incorporated into the production patterns. Production Planning & Tracking: Create and manage the T&A (Time & Action) Calendar to track every stage from fabric procurement to final shipment. Monitor daily production reports (DPR) and troubleshoot bottlenecks in the sewing or finishing departments. Sourcing & Coordination: Source fabric and accessories (labels, buttons, zippers) in alignment with the production timeline. Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team for pre-production (PP) meetings and final inspections. Required Skills & Qualifications Feature Requirement Education Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, or Textile Engineering. Experience 2–5 years in a garment export house or manufacturing unit. Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of fabric types, GSM, knitting/weaving structures, and garment construction. Software Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (for T&A and Costing) and ERP systems. Communication Excellent verbal and written English for professional buyer correspondence. Language Tamil, English & Hindi (Must) CTC 5 LPA Notice Period 15- 20 Days (Immediate Joiners Preferred)
